Underwriting Process

Fill out the IQ (Insurance Questionnaire) to the best of your knowledge. Our team will reach out with any additional questions needed to complete your application.
For most products, you'll complete a med exam. During the medical exam, they’ll ask you basic health questions, take your height and weight, and do a simple blood draw. Once complete, the provider will send the results directly to the carrier and alert us.
We’ll complete your application and send it over to you from the carrier for signing. If you see anything that needs changed, just let us know and we’ll correct and resend.
The carrier may reach out to you to complete a Client Medical Interview which may include questions about your medical and prescription history. Life Insurance carriers look at these factors to determine your risk as the insured.
In many cases, the carrier may require more information and may request a Supplemental Health Questionnaire or order medical records. We’ll help with every step of this process.
If you’re doing a 1035 exchange, there will be additional forms to sign.
Once the carrier reviews all your information, they will send an offer. We’ll then meet with you to discuss options and plan design before you sign up for the policy. You did it!
